Your weekly guide to getting the most out of generative AI tools
Welcome to our Friday edition of the Innovation Profs newsletter. Look for us in your inbox every Tuesday with our usual news-filled newsletter and on Fridays to focus on making you more productive with generative AI. Let’s get started…
We’re headed to a future where humans and AI bots live together in (we hope) harmony - and we’re not just talking about Grok’s new “sexy” voice mode. So it only makes sense that the future of social media involves AI. With that in mind, here are five ways you can use generative AI on social media right now.
Imagine Yourself on Meta: Search for the Meta AI account in Messenger or Instagram and send it a direct message that says “Imagine me.” It will reply with instructions on how to create an AI version of yourself. After it takes a couple photos of your face, you can tell it to imagine you in different scenarios - wrestling an alligator, juggling puppies or in a snowglobe.
Create an AI chat bot on Instagram: Instagram lets you create AI chat bots to DM with on different subjects. Start a new direct message on Instagram, then choose “AI chats.” You’ll see premade AI chat examples, or click on “Create” to walk through creating one of your own. Here’s one we made named Social Professor.
Let bots comment on your content: Social AI is an app where humans create content, but only AI bots reply. Download the app, choose the personality of your followers, and then create some content to see what AI has to say about your post.

Get context on X with Grok: Have you ever seen a post on X but have no ideas what it means? Click the “explain this post” button in the upper-right and have xAI put the content into context.
Rewrite your LinkedIn post: LinkedIn users need to sign up for LinkedIn Premium to take advantage of generative AI features. But if you’re a premium users, click the “rewrite with AI” button to let AI write your content.
Want a comprehensive look at the intersection of social media and AI? Sign up for our next AI Lunch Club: AI + Social Media. This event will be a look at how AI is being used in social media on March 12. You’ll learn about…
How to create your own AI for people to chat with in Instagram
How to get the most from Meta’s AI advertising tools
How LinkedIn is using generative AI to better connect job seekers with job opportunities
Two apps that are foreshadowing a future where humans and AI bots interact
And more!
Sign up for more Lunch Clubs:
March 26: AI Ethics This session will provide an overview of the broader ethical issues associated with generative AI, offering practical insights to help you better understand and address these critical issues.
April 9: AI in Law and Policy The aim of this session is to give a broad overview of the issues, informed by the latest developments at the intersection of AI and law/policy.

This week’s question: What can I do with a paid ChatGPT account that I can’t do with a free one?
Answer: There are currently several tiers of paid ChatGPT accounts that offer different levels of access to the various OpenAI tools. Here we’ll describe what you get with an individual ChatGPT Plus account ($20 per month) and a ChatGPT Pro account ($200 per month).
With a ChatGPT Plus account, you get:
Faster response times
Priority access during high traffic
Increased monthly query limits for GPT-4o
Access to advanced models, e.g. reasoning models o1, o1-mini, o3-mini, and o3-mini-high
The ability to create and use projects, tasks, and custom GPTs
Higher limits for image generation with DALL-E
Standard and advanced voice mode
The ability to generate videos with text-to-video tool Sora
Access to deep research (10 queries per month)
Access to a research preview of GPT‑4.5
With a ChatGPT Pro account, you get:
Every feature from ChatGPT Plus
Unlimited access to GPT-4o and all OpenAI reasoning models
Access to reasoning model o1 pro mode, which exceeds the performance of other OpenAI reasoning models
Unlimited access to advanced voice mode
Increased access to Sora
Increased access to deep research
Access to a research preview of AI agent Operator
Keep in mind that free users still have limited access to GPT-4o, reasoning model o3-mini, custom GPTs (can use them but not build them), image generation with DALL-E, and standard voice mode, so there’s plenty you can do with ChatGPT without paying for it.
