Tool of the week: Meta AI Avatars
Meta AI’s Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) group launched Seamless Interaction, a research initiative focused on modelling the full, subtle ebb-and-flow of human, face-to-face conversation. The group trained Dyadic Motion models that predict gestures, gaze shifts and other non-verbal cues so virtual assistants and avatars can move and react as naturally as they speak. Meta says the work paves the way for lifelike AR/VR meetings and instant multimodal translation.

Looking for an activity for your kids during the dog days of summer? One thing you might try is to create custom mazes with the AI image generation tool of your choice. Watch out, though! While these tools can get local maze-like features correct, getting the full structure of a playable maze is pretty tricky.

Finally, Ideogram didn’t give us a fully playable maze, but it did create a fun, maze-like world depicted on a coloring page.
